PROJECT City Center Parking Garage
LOCATION Las Vegas, Nevada
05 7000

THE CHALLENGE
To Create a Parking Structure as Attractive as the Surrounding Architecture

City Center Las Vegas is acclaimed as the most expensive privately funded construction project in U.S. History. Sixty-seven acres contain an amazing mix of spectacular architecture, landscaping, and large-scale works of art. Eight renowned architects participated in the project’s design.

One of the architectural challenges presented was to create utilitarian parking structures that harmonized with the extraordinary ultra-modern environment of CityCenter.

The fifth parking structure was particularly important, since it faced Las Vegas Boulevard and sided to the Monte Carlo and the Bellagio. A plain concrete structure laden with layers of cars of different colors and shapes would create an eyesore in the midst of the glitz and the gloss of this urban resort destination.

The solution? To dress the façade in a rich assortment of gleaming perforated metal panels, set at interesting and intriguing angles. C.R. Laurence Co., Inc. (CRL) was up to the challenge.

The panels are part of CRL’s Deluxe Perforated Panel System (DPS200C), which is easy to install and time efficient. Using CRL’s aluminum substructure framing and connection details, factory installed anchors and keyhole slots eliminate the need to fasten screws in the field, and the structurally sound connections are designed to allow field adjustments. This results in time and labor cost savings.

Panel design choices include a variety of attractive profile patterns and flat profile designs, as well as a wide selection of finishes.
CRL’s Deluxe Perforated Panel Systems are a sophisticated method of providing security, shade, and privacy, while giving a distinct and attractive look to a building’s facade.

CityCenter’s Parking Structure #5 is spectacular proof of what can be created with imagination, sound engineering and design, and experienced high-quality fabrication skills.
